Let's set a few things straight

Hybrids aren't good for the planet, you fucking clodpoles.

Buying and maintaining an old, conventional-style car is better in every way than buying a new hybrid car, which I shall now detail bellow:

1. Buying a used car is better for the planet than buying a hybrid
Hybrids are essentially massive batteries on wheels, and forcing the creation of a brand new car (especially one with so many massive, toxic components) instead of preventing an old, used car from having to be disposed of is horrible for the planet. You are killing the earth in three ways- 1. Mining nickel and other battery components decimates the earth 2. Later having to dispose of these horrible batteries when they inevitably die in seven years 3. Not preventing an old car from being destroyed and therefore causing a perfectly good car to go to waste, rather than simply use that one, you fucking hippie piece of shit.

2. It's expensive, dumbass!
I Googled "Used Honda Civic in (my location)" and found a 2001 Honda Civic DX for $4,000 with 44 highway MPG within three minutes of searching. A new 2014 Honda Civic Hybrid starts at well over $27,000. Even a fucking hippie could figure out that the hybrid is just a LITTLE more expensive.

So, as you can see, hybrids are for piece-of-shit-assholes.
Don't even get me started on electric cars.

The ultimate low-emmissions vehicle is the motorcycle. 60 MPG is considered very low, many motorcycles get over 100 MPG. Most of the time, people drive alone, anyway, so a motorcycle isn't even impractical.

Those solar motorcycles are pretty neat though

You seem angry dude! It is not within your health's best interests to get agitated over those who foster different opinions than your own! At the end of the day, a conventional vehicle produces more carbon emissions than a hybrid or alternative-energy model, only augmenting the deleterious effects of anthropogenic global warming. I recommend that everyone who hasn't already switches to a different transportation model: bicycle riding. I ride my bicycle to work every day! Not only is it substantially less expensive, but users get to reap the benefits of exercise including but not limited to a healthy heart and clean colon. When in a rush or needing to travel an exceptionally long distance, I rely on my photovoltaic or dihydrogen monoxide powered vehicles. Truth be told, most used cars are rather old-hat...

Sending positive vibes and good karma your way,

Oh, yes, I completely agree. I hardly drive anywhere because biking (or even walking) is far more convenient. However, there are times when a bike is not ideal, and when a motor is something you need, a conventional vehicle is wiser than a hybrid.
